Total Earth Care was approached by Mepstead to produce a Vegetation Management Plan (VMP) for a subdivision of Lots adjacent to Stamford Bridge Avenue. The VMP was to target a bio-certified area outside of the development footprint which comprises resilient native vegetation, high weed incursion and a riparian corridor as defined by NRAR.
The aim of the VMP was to subcategorise the target area into management zones, outline a methodology to control and eradicate weed species and provide planting advice for each management zone.
The PCT Cumberland Shale-Sandstone Ironbark Forest was identified on site, this is a component of a critically endangered Threatened Ecological Community (TEC). The VMP was designed to return this entire area to a good condition that conforms to this TEC. With the aid of this VMP, bush regeneration works can begin and continue for at least 5 years, hopefully giving all the lovely Bush-turkeys on site a nice place to live!
Total Earth Care’s Ecological Restoration Division will carry out the on-ground works.
